Meet Our Pediatric Dentists!

Greater Lansing Mi Pediatric Dentist Dr Neeru Ramaswami

Dr. Neeru Ramaswami BDS, MS, MPH, FAAPD

Dr. Ramaswami is a board-certified pediatric dentist with over 20 years of experience who specializes in treating infants, toddlers, and children with special needs. She specializes in laser-assisted tongue-tie procedures in infants and children, as well as the screening and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing in children. A graduate of the University of Michigan pediatric dentistry program, she is the past president of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and has served on the Michigan Department of Public Health Strategic Planning Commission for children with special health needs.

Dr. Ramaswami believes that by recognizing and correcting developmental problems such as tongue ties, thumb sucking habits, and other oral myofunctional disorders early on, she is paving a path for children to achieve optimal health and wellness in their growing years. She treats the child as a whole person—guiding them through their fun elementary, middle, and high school years—educating them on how their mental and physical health can affect oral health.

Dr. Ramaswami’s advocacy efforts for underprivileged children and work with her medical colleagues were recognized with the Child Health Care Provider Award in 2008, honoring her work as an outstanding child advocate in Genesee County. Dr. Ramaswami has spoken at various continuing dental and medical education courses on the topic of infant and toddler oral health through the Michigan Dental Association and the Michigan State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Ramaswami is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the International College of Dentists—both prestigious organizations that have recognized her leadership and her contribution to the field of pediatric dentistry. She also serves as a clinical adjunct professor at the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

Okemos has been her home for the past 22 years. When she is not at work, you will see her at various school events in the Okemos school district with her husband, two daughters, and her dog Enzo. She loves to listen to jazz music and podcasts, do yin yoga, go for quiet nature walks, and eat ice cream at Baskin and Robbins!
