Clinical Team
Ellen
Clinical Lead
Ellen joined Discover Smiles in 2017 with over 20 years of dental experience. Ellen is a registered dental assistant and has a B.S. in public administration from CMU. Ellen has worked both the clinical and administrative side of dentistry. In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with family, playing games, traveling, and entertaining.
Ann
Registered Dental Hygienist
Ann has 20 years of dental hygiene experience working with a diverse background of patients. First and foremost, she has always been drawn to working with children and has found her niche working with Dr. Ramaswami at Discover Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. She enjoys creating a nurturing and fun experience for each child she works with.
Outside of dentistry, Ann enjoys being outside, fitness, warm weather and travel. Her favorite treat is dark chocolate. She loves animals and has two cats of her own named Oscar and Lucy.
Alyvia
Registered Dental Hygienist
Alyvia graduated from Lansing Community College with her Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene in 2020. She continued her education at the University of Michigan and received her Bachelors of Science degree in dental hygiene in 2022. In her previous work experience, Alyvia worked with children of all ages for many years prior to dental hygiene. At Discover Smiles, she enjoys creating a positive, fun-filled dental experience and developing connections with patients to build rapport and trust.
Outside of the office, Alyvia loves spending time with her husband and family. She enjoys camping, going to Lake Michigan, and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines. She has a German shepherd named Cooper and her favorite food is chicken cordon bleu.

Bren
Registered Dental Assistant
Bren is a certified registered dental assistant with over 20 years of experience working with both children and adults. This multifaceted phenom has an impressive resume of certifications such as CPR Certification, Nitrous Oxide Certification, and State of Michigan Radiography Certification. Her dedication and hard work doesn’t stop there—Bren also has dental laboratory experience. But, she’s not all business, all the time. Bren’s warm personality carries a strong passion for building trust and long-lasting relationships with both parents and children.
When she really lets loose, her hobbies include riding her Kawasaki Ninja ZX12 motorcycle, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
Ruth
Registered Dental Assistant
Ruth has been in the dental world for five years. In her free time, Ruth enjoys working out and spending quality time with her nieces and nephews. She spends a lot of time outdoors. She moved from Venezuela but now lives in Okemos.
Administrative Team
Sara
Admin Team Lead
Sara is a treatment coordinator with eight years experience in the dental world. She has worked both the clinical and administrative side of dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, playing with her puppy and kitty, and spending time with her family and friends. She lives in Holt with her husband Ben.
